Civil society is part of legal reform
At the presentation, EU cooperation official Frank Hess pointed to the coalition for inclusive legal reform led by AGATE. “Civil society has an important role to play in its implementation,” he said of Armenia’s disability-rights law. He described cooperation among disability organisations, grassroots associations, professionals and public institutions.
Different ways to access the stories
UNFPA’s report on its 2022 results recorded the book’s publication in print, audio and video, together with a sign-language translation. The collection made women with disabilities, including those of Armenian origin, visible as historical actors, while the different formats provided alternatives to reading a printed volume. [3]
The book reaches village discussions
On 11 July 2023, a World Population Day event in Jil opened with a presentation of the book. UNFPA representative Tsovinar Harutyunyan urged equal participation by women and men in community development. Book collections were then donated to the school libraries of Jil, Tsapatagh and Artanish.
