Information opens a route to care

Health workers in Pouytenga introduced the family to treatment during an awareness session in February 2022. At Tenkodogo Regional Hospital, an adviser explained the process using pictures. HI supported free care for Moussa, while teams visited the family at home and followed up throughout treatment. [1]

Hospitals and local organisations

HI reported that its partnership with Hope Walks and the hospital, operating since 2019, had supported 80 children. It had also trained 296 health workers and members of disabled people’s organisations in early identification of childhood conditions, alongside 11 hospital staff trained in clubfoot care. [1]

Parents receive continued support

Hope Walks’ 2024 financial report describes parent education, community outreach and training for local healthcare providers as parts of its work. HI’s Burkina Faso programme also works with health centres and disabled people’s organisations to connect families with specialist care. Sandwidi’s account showed how families receiving assistance could subsequently help others find services. [3][1]
