Entrepreneurs describe their own experience

Para-swimmer Andreas Onea moderated the event. Markus Wallner from Lower Austria discussed his path into self-employment, while Ralf Waldegger from Tyrol appeared with an exoskeleton. Participants also toured the centre and its robotic equipment. tech2people founder Gregor Demblin described a longstanding cooperation with MVG. The gathering connected the entrepreneurs’ working lives with support for their everyday activities, and took place shortly before the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. [1]

A goal centred on everyday movement

In a separate MVG account published on 2 December 2024, Waldegger described working with therapists on trunk stability. He wanted more strength for transferring from his wheelchair into a car and loading the chair. The account describes training in a supported treadmill system and subsequent exoskeleton sessions. These were assisted movements with equipment and therapists. His experience gives a concrete example of individually agreed training goals, without establishing a general treatment outcome for other people. [2]

“For the 240th anniversary, we wanted to give something back to our shop owners.”

Technology also supports work in the shop

Waldegger’s story also concerns the business he and his wife established in Telfs after a successful application for a shop. At work, his wheelchair’s adjustable seat height lets him reach stock on higher shelves. That detail shows how assistive technology can support ordinary business tasks as well as activities outside work. The anniversary partnership added a specific therapy opportunity to the professional independence he had already built as a shop operator. [2]
