An ambassador welcomes recognisable characters
Sunflower ambassador Martin Moxness said: "Seeing the Sunflower lanyard in LEGO sets is a significant step in normalising hidden disabilities." The planned Friends airport set included Ryan with noise-reducing headphones. LEGO also announced Sunflower designs at its 55 Minifigure Factories, allowing visitors to personalise figures.
Support starts inside the workplace
Employees in Denmark and the United Kingdom could collect branded lanyards from the announcement date. LEGO planned tailored training for managers and online learning for interested staff. The company said it intended to extend the initiative to offices worldwide; this was an expansion plan.
KultureCity brings training into visitor spaces
A separate partnership with the nonprofit KultureCity covered staff training and free lending of sensory bags containing headphones and other aids. By April 2024, LEGO House in Denmark was already certified. In December, LEGO announced a target of certifying European shops by March 2025. KultureCity's programme includes continuing training and support for participating venues. [3]
