Local associations explain the voting process
Resources included a voting guide from Apei de Soissons, an easy-to-read presentation from Udapei 74 and an Adapei 45 explanation of proxy voting. Unapei also linked an election quiz created by Nous Aussi. The association’s citizenship game offers questions and audiovisual scenes to explore participation and rights.
Candidates had to provide accessible statements
The national election-campaign commission explained that candidates were required to supply declarations in language accessible to people with disabilities or comprehension difficulties. The obligation, introduced by a December 2021 decree, first applied at the presidential election. The commission made candidate information available through its website. [2]
Accessible language supports an individual choice
Unapei said it had long campaigned for understandable candidate statements so that voters could form their own opinions. Its member associations helped produce easy-to-read versions commissioned by presidential candidates. The resources connected access to political information with the practical steps involved in casting a vote.
