Two voices chosen by self-advocates
The platform had elected Amato and Delle Serre in May. Anffas identifies Amato with its Sicily and Ragusa organisations and Delle Serre with Salerno. PIAM brings together people with intellectual and neurodevelopmental disabilities to express their own views on support, services and rights. [2][3]
A challenge to the whole association
“We are ready, and you?” the two spokespeople asked in their joint message. They called for collective work to combat discrimination in everyday life and within associations. The assembly, held on 22 and 23 June, unanimously adopted the Perugia Manifesto, setting a shared strategic direction for Anffas’s work. [1]
Participation in decisions
Anffas president Roberto Speziale argued that change needed an organised plan involving the whole network. Disability minister Alessandra Locatelli joined remotely and discussed cooperation on individual life projects. The meeting placed self-advocates’ participation alongside the practical work of associations, families and public institutions. [1]
