Ground-floor rooms still left barriers

LENTE’s election-day observers reported long queues at emergency accessible polling places in the capital region. At Tondo High School, some disabled and older voters went to upper-floor polling rooms because queues were disorganised and assistance limited. The account described specific observed sites, showing how designated facilities could still be difficult to use.

Disabled people take part in monitoring

The assessment recorded a partnership with the Muntinlupa disability organisation KMKM to monitor early voting in that city. Across the wider election, LENTE deployed 1,000 volunteers from law-school chapters, youth coalitions and partner organisations, examining safety, accountability, transparency and inclusion. [1]

Preparation changes the voting experience

The report recommended more satellite accessible polling places, transport for voters facing barriers and clearer procedures. It contrasted delayed ballot retrieval at two sites with advance preparation at the National Vocational Rehabilitation Center. Early authorisations there helped voting begin on time. [3]
