Experience in public service

Galcerán’s parliamentary biography recorded work in the Valencian administration from 1997, followed by a permanent civil-service role from 2010. In her interview published on 7 September, she said she had narrowly missed entering parliament in the May election and welcomed the new responsibility. [1][2]

Support for a demanding role

“What matters is the person,” Galcerán told Down España. She said she expected to learn from more experienced political colleagues and valued her family’s support. She also described the work of disability organisations and families as essential to the long process of achieving inclusion.

Representation and remaining barriers

CERMI’s report on disability rights in 2023 welcomed her arrival in the regional legislature. In the same discussion of political participation, the disability movement stressed the need for accessibility and the removal of barriers in public life. Galcerán’s seat gave that debate a named participant within parliament.
