Digital partnerships and training
UNDP reported that ANPH had mapped occupations accessible to people with disabilities to adapt training. Digital partnerships were signed to improve information access and employment. The partners also developed a resource mobilisation strategy in 2022 and a tool for tracking disability inclusion in public policies.
A national framework for services
The disability strategy adopted by law in December 2021 covers 2021–2025. It sets three priorities: improving services and quality of life, access to livelihoods, and an inclusive society. The law assigns implementation and coordination to ANPH, providing a common reference for government action on disability. [2]
The agency acknowledges remaining barriers
In an earlier interview with La Nation on 7 July 2022, ANPH director Doualeh Saïd Mohamoud said much of the agency’s work remained to be done. He identified a widespread social belief that people with disabilities could not take charge of their lives as a continuing obstacle.
