Young people put demands to the president
“My goal is to amplify the voices of young people, champion their rights and empower others,” Ahmad said. Before the announcement, she and five other child representatives met President Arif Alvi. Their discussions covered inclusive education, climate change and gender equality, drawing on experiences from different parts of Pakistan. [1]
Education barriers enter a national consultation
UNICEF’s 2024 annual report described Ahmad’s participation in an October consultation in Islamabad with more than 170 stakeholders. She addressed inaccessible schools and stigma that kept children with disabilities out of public life. Planning minister Ahsan Iqbal also spoke about inclusive development. The discussions were intended to help shape the UN Disability Inclusion Strategy.
Advocacy reaches the UNICEF Executive Board
In February 2025, Ahmad addressed the UNICEF Executive Board and called for inclusive policies and programmes. UNICEF’s profile also records her participation in a 2025 children’s takeover at the Punjab Assembly. Her activities linked national institutions with international discussions about children’s rights and disability inclusion.
