Public services lack procedures and accessible information
According to the launch report, 55% of interviewed public officials said their institutions lacked local protocols or guidelines for supporting people with disabilities. More than 82% reported no accessible information materials. Those gaps concerned practical access to protection services, including information in Braille or Bolivian Sign Language. [1]
Interviews identify what services need to change
The study combined quantitative and qualitative research. Its recommendations included training public employees, improving physical access to offices and providing resources for inclusive services. It also recorded demands for more knowledge about disability among officials and communities, where misunderstanding could leave questions about rights and support unanswered. [2]
Six municipal protocols reported afterwards
In a follow-up report dated 29 November 2025, Educo described the approval of six municipal protocols addressing violence against women and girls with disabilities. Representatives from Corocoro, Filadelfia and Santiago de Huayllamarca shared experiences of developing procedures, referral routes and awareness materials with community participation. The partners identified the 2024 study as a basis for this work. [3]
