Employers and organisations review the design
TAF Africa’s 2024 annual report recorded a two-day validation workshop involving private employers, disabled people’s organisations, JONAPWD and the commission. Participants reviewed the draft and discussed implementation and potential difficulties. The organisation described the framework as support for employers facing additional disability-related employment costs.
Representatives question who was consulted
In interviews published by Equality Reporters on 13 February 2025, Nigeria Association of the Blind president Stanley Onyebuchi and Albino Association of Nigeria president Bisi Bamishe said they had not been involved in the planning. Sightsavers’ Esther Bature confirmed that her organisation had supported development and launch through TAF Africa.
Equipment needs training and maintenance
Assistive technology specialist Opeolu Akinola told the same publication that successful support depended on locally available, affordable equipment, training and maintenance capacity, and technology suited to local needs. These practical questions concerned how the announced employment framework would work for disabled staff and the companies hiring them. [3][1]
